How will it affect my mortgage?

Trust Deed | Guide

If you're a homeowner, you will be expected to release any equity in your home to help pay off your debts as part of your Trust Deed. Your Trust Deed will appear on your credit file for six years from the date it starts (which probably means for two years after it finishes). This means that when it comes to remortgaging on your Trust Deed, you may find it more difficult or more expensive.

If you find you can't remortgage, extra time, which could be up to 12 months of payments up to the value of your share of the equity, may well be added onto your Trust Deed so you can repay more of what you owe.
