Whether you’re looking to save money on high-street goods or on your food shop, cashback sites will get you off to a flying start.
Claiming cashback on your online buys can lead to great savings. And as long as you’re not tempted into buying items you don’t need, these cashback apps can help keep more money in your pockets.
Let’s have a look at a few cashback apps that can help you save money.
Before you buy anything online, you should look to use a cashback site, rather than clicking directly onto the retailer’s website. If you remember to shop this way, you can claim money back depending on the offers available.
Cashback apps such as TopCashback and Quidco will give you a percentage back of what you’ve spent with selected retailers.
But remember, you’ll only save money when claiming cashback on products you need. If you impulse buy because of the cashback, you could end up spending more money and may end up with products you don’t need.
TopCashback lets you earn cashback on purchases made both online and in-store. When you’re logged into your TopCashback account, you can access the retailer’s online store. From here, you can then shop as normal. Once a purchase is confirmed, you’ll receive money in your cashback account. It depends on the retailer how long it takes for you to get the cash.
TopCashback is free to join, although you can opt for the ‘plus membership’ giving you access to exclusive benefits. This will cost you £5 of your earned annual cashback. That means that if you don’t earn any cashback, you won’t pay anything.
Quidco works in a similar way to TopCashback. It’s worth looking at both sites when shopping to make sure you’re getting the best cashback offer.
Quidco has a free membership and works in a similar way to TopCashback – it retains £5 of your yearly cashback if you upgrade to a premium membership. This gives you access to benefits including faster paying retailers and live chat support.

Your savings don’t have to stop with online shopping. You can earn cashback on your high-street purchases with both TopCashback and Quidco. What’s more, you can even access supermarket deals, so you can save money on your everyday essentials.
TopCashback’s Snap & Save and Quidco’s Clicksnap let you browse the supermarket deals on offer helping you cut the cost of your grocery bill. You can snap and upload a picture of the receipt and wait for your account to be credited with the cashback.

With Shopitize, you can browse through offers on products you’ve already bought. And as long as the deal is for the exact same product, you can claim money back. You’ll need to unlock the cashback offer, usually by answering a question, then the offer can be redeemed.
You’ll need to scan the product barcode and upload a picture of the receipt. Once you have claimed £5, you can withdraw your cashback.
CheckoutSmart is similar to the Shopitize app, although you can also get your hands on some freebies and can access some offers more than once. With this app, you don’t need to scan the barcode – you just need a picture of your receipt to claim money back.
You can claim your cashback at any time. If you’re claiming an amount under £20, you’ll pay a 5% processing fee.
