Do you know where to start when it comes to tackling your debts? Make sure you know the most useful sites to help you.
If you’re starting to struggle with keeping on top of your debt repayments, the very best thing you can do is seek help and advice. Problem debt won’t go away just by ignoring it or trying to forget about it – in fact the longer you leave it the worse it may get if your lenders are still adding interest and charges to what you owe. However, we completely understand that sometimes it can be hard to know exactly where to start when it comes to tackling your debts.
Here at Debt Advisory Centre our advisors are always on standby to take your calls and answer any questions you have. Depending on your situation, the best thing to do may be to embark on a debt solution, like an IVA or Debt Management Plan. If a debt solution is what you need, that’s where we come in. After helping over 400,000 people deal with problem debt, and with 20 years’ experience under our belts, we really know what we’re doing when it comes to pointing people in the right direction. Why not listen what our past clients think of us and decide whether or not the same approach might work for you?
We also have lots of money saving ideas on our blog, so you can make sure you’re making the most of the money that you already have. Do you know whether you’re leaking money, or how to start a saving pot? Make sure you find out!
No matter how worried you are about money, as soon as you’ve spoken to us about your situation, got some good advice and have a plan of action you’ll feel so much better.
You might also want to look at these sites for information about debt and money management:
The Money Advice Service is a great place for in-depth, free and impartial debt and money help and is set up and endorsed by the Government.
As well as debt help, you’re able to find general money advice about investments, savings and pensions, so it’s a good all round port of call. They have lots of tools you can use to help you put a plan together to manage your money over the whole course of your life. One of their most popular videos is Retirement income options that explains all your options.
The Government’s own website gives you no frills, straight-to-the-point advice about how to deal with your debts.
In particular, there’s a lot of advice about what your creditors can and can’t do when you’re in debt on this site, as well as what steps you should take if you’ve received a CCJ.
Don’t forget to check out the benefits page as well. Sometimes a little help is all you need so don’t miss out if you’re entitled to something, it could make the difference between being able to manage your debts and sinking into the red.
Citizens Advice does exactly what it says on the tin! As well as debt advice, there’s really interesting content related to finances in general. So this site is the one you’d want to go to if you were trying to increase your income by taking in a lodger or if you wanted advice on how to buy a used car that is cheaper to run.
They also have a great little interactive budget tool which will be useful if you’re struggling to manage your money but you don’t think a debt solution is necessary.
